Creative Inspiration


I’ve been engaging in more creative pursuits over the last few months, partly fed by some new work responsibilities, but mostly by a growing need to use my hands more, play more, and express myself in different ways.
This inner need has been growing for a few years, but I intend to really indulge it this year.
To start the year, I’ll be reading about art that interests me, looking at art, and trying out different techniques.
Just before Christmas I took in the Early Rubens exhibit at the AGO, and found the printmaking display fascinating. It ends this coming Sunday, but you can see the overview here.

This morning I read an article about the Hungarian textile artist Agnes Herczeg and was fascinated by her miniature lace pictures. I’ve done a little needle lace, and enjoyed it.

I’ve also bought a new “toy,” a Cricut Maker and have started playing a little with what it can do

and of some iron-on vinyl to fabric that I did.  I also did the paper animals attached to the bags
